The Taper Rate Formula

$3 per fortnight per $1,000 = $78 per year per $1,000
For every $1,000 of assets above your threshold, your pension reduces by $78 per year ($3 per fortnight).

Example Calculation: Single Homeowner with $400,000

Assets: $400,000 | Threshold: $327,000 | Over: $73,000
Reduction: $73,000 ÷ $1,000 × $78 = $5,694/year
Annual Pension: $31,178 - $5,694 = $25,484
